Out of interest, did brit lids have sandbag covers on at all, or was that purely a *very* early war thing?
If there were, it means I've got a spare to loan out, as I'd rather not respray my black police mk2 helmet.
To clarify, in our scenario, all Allies will all be from 2nd Battalion York and Lancashire Infantry Rgt
That's handy, as many players who are memebers of PBI will already have York & Lanc' cap badges from their Hallamshire Rgt impressions.

It is, isn't it.

Mix of BD and KD seem likely. Picture here shows both, along with helmets with and without nets. Also note Thompson with drum mag.

I am liking the idea of being be-jumpered. KD and jumper is a snazzy combo, and it helps if the temp is a little cool.
Yeah, sounds good.
I think I'll keep a BD blouse ready for when it really gets cold... Of course keeping the shorts, lol.

Pondering the mixed KD/BD thing.... if wearing BD trousers with a KD shirt but no blouse, what do you do with the braces? Hope they get covered up by the webbing? Perhaps a wooly jumper is in order then.
Cheers

Your braces will be visible in that case.
Jumper is what I am doing
I'll be in shorts, so no braces needed! ![]()
What's wrong with having your braces showing? I've seen it done in period pictures with BD trousers and an ORs collarless wool shirt up top only.

I thought having braces showing might be considered scruffy

Worse than that, it was considered akin to going round with your underwear hanging out! (not that showing your unmentionables is considered that off these days! )

The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.
